The New York City taxi ride fare increase will go into effect November 30th. The Taxi and Limousine Commission approved an increase in the wait time for taxis back in September. The new increase raises the cost of 20-cents a minute to 40-cents a minute.

NEW YORK -- The New York City Taxi & Limousine Commission said Friday that the taxi fare increase will take effect at 12:01 a.m. Nov. 30. The increase will be in the amount that's charged when yellow cabs are moving slowly or stopped in traffic.
